Write for Science Progress

Science Progress is a magazine and digital journal that serves as a platform for developing exciting new ideas to promote innovation in U.S. science and technology policy. It’s a place where scientists and technology leaders can interact with policymakers and communications experts to advocate for science and innovation in the service of the common good. We are confident that science, technology, and innovation underpin the key progressive pillars of U.S. prosperity—economic mobility, universal health care, quality education, our national security, and our transformation to a low-carbon economy.

Our contributors include policy professionals, bench scientists and academics from a variety of disciplines, graduate and undergraduate students, and science writers. These experts offer bold thinking on a wide array of issues in life sciences and public health, innovation, energy and environment, science communication and education, and national security.

We welcome pitches for an original content on science and technology policy. Just contact us at: editor@scienceprogress.org

We will review your pitch and if it meets our publication needs, we will contact you on an individual basis to work out an editorial schedule and to verify that you agree to the publication terms. Unfortunately, we do not offer payment for pitches or pieces submitted through the website. We will do our best to respond to all submissions. In addition, please know that we are not inviting you to submit new ideas so that we can run with them without any attribution or acknowledgment—but it is also possible that we or another Science Progress reader independently conceives of the same idea for a piece as you.
