Outstanding reporting. In the future, I'll have to check the room for reporters before speaking candidly. Nanotechnology is destined to have a significant impact on chemical engineering. My only fear is that we, as a public, will over regulate it into obscurity before we have the opportunity realize its full benefit. Thank you for taking the time to listen through so many presentations. I'm sure it will inevitably become time well spent. Regards,

Rick,

You brought out the true essence of the meeting in your report, I am amazed how accurate you reported on the meeting, the whole time you were writing it you sat next to me, I wouldn’t have talked to you so much if I knew what you were doing, I loved your article but I kept reading and thinking you might make a reference to me the lone manufacture in the meeting who was having heart palpitations over what I was hearing. I have now talked to four of the firms you have mentioned and again I am amazed how much knowledge they all have in this arena of nanotechnology. Thanks for sitting next to me it was great to meet you and now see how astute you are as a reporter of facts. Keep up the great work…

Hi, Rick. Well reported and well crafted! Despite the serious implications, I laughed a lot. What a wonderful ear for spoken dialogue! (By way of full disclosure, I might be biased in favor of the author because Rick invited me to his wedding.)

My one tiny quibble was with your comparison to a Full Employment Act. That literary conceit, even if you feel you must use capital letters, is better reserved for acts by governments, boards or parodies of the same than for the workings of the free Marketplace of Liability. A new version of "feeding frenzy" but somehow conveying colder blood than what flows in mere sharks.

Rick,

Great summing up of the conference - which I must confess I skipped out of, having set up the science at the beginning. Have to wonder though whether it slipped off the massed lawyers like water off a ducks back...
