i was writing a college application essay and started googling "science curiosity" and this was at the top. Being 19 and looking back at my public school education, they did very little to instill a sense of curiosity into the students, which is something any successful must have. it took me a while to realize, but my curiosity has to be a motivator for learning stuff. so yeah im with obama on this one, although i doubt america, who has been making its citizens systematically dumber by the decade, will be able to follow through on making us more curious.

I am curious as to why he may have coupled the word "curiosity" with the word "tolerance"?

Could he have meant to say "diversity" which would be the first thing I would make a connection to with the word "tolerance".

hmmm...

Curiosity---What a wonderful word....But we need to push for more of it! Without this one thing we would all still be in the dark ages...WOW--Science will soon come to the forefront in America....It is one investment which ALWAYS PAYS OFF.....
