Scientists could also use more support in dealing with the media. Les Roberts, one of the co-authors on the Lancet papers that looked at mortality in Iraq, found that few newspapers in the USA would discuss the shocking numbers of killed Iraqis. Why not? European and Asian news stations held consider this to be a news iten, but the American press ignored it. We need a way, perhaps through organizations such as AAAS, to generally leverage scientific analysis into the news.</description>
