Hi Nancy,

Great eye opener to the complexity of food safety for the American public.
Indeed, there is a need for oversight, our public servants in science can be instrumental in organizing a public website to get the ordinary citizen to put in their thoughts and ideas about how to reorganized public health policy and steps to take to make it a reality.
Obama has been a great leader in all areas of new thought - and transparency is by far the most important role that our government can take.
Just my opinion - could be a option.

Excellent article that should be in the New York Times, or on the front page of CNN. Why does the MSM ignore these real issues when excellent journalists are hitting at the core of the issues?

Nancy cuts to the chase here. A fractured food safety system does not a safe food supply make.

Her next-to-the-last paragraph summed up the problem well. Agencies are loathe to hand over a portion of their budgets and authority to a branch of government that may then turn around and decree how they are to operate.

Sadly, I can't imagine any action on this legislation (Safe Food Act) without another major food crisis.
