After riling up the blogosphere last month, Ben Stein’s movie on intelligent design, Expelled, makes it into the New York Times. The most devastating implication of the movie is buried at the end of the piece. Eugenie C. Scott, a physical anthropologist who heads the National Center for Science Education, said she feared the film would depict “the scientific community as intolerant, as close-minded, and as persecuting those who disagree with them. And this is simply wrong.”
